This morning we all met downstairs for breakfast at 7:30 decked out in red white and blue ready to support Wags. We fought the hustle and bustle of Beijing to get to the courts early only to find out that all the wheelchair tennis has been canceled for the day...WWWHHHAATTT! Apparently they seeded the sky to make sure they had good weather for some tennis and archery and aparently that didn't work very well. Any way we text Wags and asked him what we should do and he said that nothing had been canceled and to come on in to center court. Shane was determined to let all the chinese volunteers know that tennis was in fact going to happen today and that they needed to let us in. They proceeded to tell us that the matches were in fact happening but no spectators were aloud in. With Shane's persistance and Cathy's tears we were eventually let in.
David VS. Sara
David was playing on center court and we were the only people in the stadium. It was a very stressfull match, David won first set and then lost the second. Third set they were tied 3-3 and I wasn't sure if I could stand it any longer when it happened, he won it 6-4!!WHOO HOO and the crowd went wild!
That is the story of how we spent our 2 year anniversary and the great gift we got from Wags!!

Kim, I'm loving your blog. Your pictures are great and it looks like you're having such a great time.
I went online to find the results of David's match and when I saw the score, I thought it must have been very tense, indeed, but Hooray! he won. Your description of the event was much more exciting than just reading the score. How surreal it much have been to be one of the very few inside the stadium. I hope David wasn't too disappointed that he didn't get to play in front of a large crowd. When is his next game? Hopefully he will get the crowd he deserves then.

Thanks you guys. David said that he wasn't in the right mind set and unfortunately we contributed to that. I think having to worry about us getting in and hearing that his mom was very upset wasl a little nerve racking. He also said center court itself is a bit scary, even without the crowds. Today he plays on a smaller court and has a tough match ahead of him. The ground in wet from the pouring rain last night but the sky is now blue..lets hope it stays that way.
