Famished and hot we stopped at a restuarant for lunch. The hostess seated us in a private room in the back, we weren't sure if it was because there were 8 of us or if we were being segregated :-0 It was entertaining to watch eight americans try to order food they had never seen from a wait staff that spoke no english. It turned out to be a pretty good meal, I think everyone was pretty surprised how much they enjoyed thier dishes.
We headed to the Olympic center around 6:00 and we barely made it for the start of the Ceremony. It took a long time to fight through the subways and security but when we entered the Olympic Center it was like a glow in the dark Disneyland.

The Bird's Nest stadium is an incredible place, it is huge! The Ceremonies were good, singing, dancing, synchronized everything. The athletes parade was long but well worth it when the United States came out. David had his phone with him so he and Shane were texting back and forth. He was able to pick us out in the crowd which he said "made his night!" We are really getting amped to see him play on Tuesday!!
