Today we woke up casually to a rainy day. We all decided to make this day a casual do what you want day. Shane, Randy, Kristin and I took the subway down to the Houhai Lake area to see the Drum and Bell Towers. To our dismay they were closed but we did find the Drum and Bell Bar. This place reminded me of a European youth hostel treehouse.
After a couple of really good Beijing Draft beers we headed to the lake for some Vietnemese food. The restaurant was very nice and definatley had the best bathroom I had seen so far. ( That is a whole other story)
After lunch we were looking for a Pub the was mentioned in our Lonely Planet guide book when we met Zhuhaitao. He was a local student looking to have some chit chat with Americans to practice his english and boy did he find the right crowd :-) He took us to a couple local spots and really got a kick out of Shane's banter! At the end of the evening we made to the pub we were looking for "Shut up Just Drink!" The walls were covered in patrons graffiti so we handed Shane a marker to add the the decor. Can you guess what he wrote?
